Present Moments Recovery is a unique, family-owned drug rehabilitation program that provides the entire continuum of treatment, from sub-acute detox to sober living residences in San Diego County. Recently, Present Moments Recovery teamed up with Medical Director Dr. Katie Hirst to implement a "whole patient" approach to achieve the highest success rates possible.
Dr. Hirst is board-certified in Addiction Medicine, and Family Medicine and Psychiatry, and this dual training enables her to provide a unique level of care that encompasses the "whole patient."
The treatment program at Present Moments Recovery is comprised of evidence-based practices that are personalized for the individual. Residents are housed in a private and comfortable 'home-like' environment in north San Diego County. Traditional practices like 'one-on-one' counseling, group counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing are combined with more holistic and mindful processes, like meditation, yoga, reiki, qigong, and acupuncture.
The integration of medication assisted treatment (MAT), when appropriate, also helps the patient achieve a sense of 'wellness' as quickly as possible. Medication assisted treatment is the process of using medications like Suboxone to reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings during early sobriety.
