INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Indianapolis-based cancer foundation, You're Worth Fighting 4 Inc., is gearing up for its 5th Annual All Cancer Matters Ball. This year's ball will have a masquerade theme and feature multi-award-winning and nominated actor, Ron Godfrey as the keynote speaker. The ball will take place on October 21, 2023, at The Spotlight Community Center located at 5060 E. 62nd St, Ste 100 in Indianapolis, IN at 4:30 pm. This fundraising event will feature a red-carpet experience, music, dining, an award ceremony, and more. Each year, the ball focuses on a different type of cancer with a color theme that corresponds with that cancer's ribbon, and this year, pancreatic cancer will be highlighted.
The organization's founder, Shuntell Alston, is a 3-time cancer survivor herself. She has battled and won the fight against breast and ovarian cancer with her latest battle being at the beginning of this year in which she became the recipient of a true miracle. During her latest bout with cancer at the beginning of this year, she was told the breast cancer returned and had spread, but when they opened her chest during surgery, all the cancer had inexplicably disappeared! The organization's message is clear; even when it looks like there's no reason to fight, you must keep going and still fight for yourself and that is the message that is portrayed at each year's fundraising ball through the keynote speaker. Shuntell is a living breathing example of that message. Her personal experience is the driving force behind her passion to support and serve cancer patients and their families. It is the organization's mission to bring awareness to all types of cancer instead of focusing on the most common types, such as breast cancer. It is its belief that all patients need support and services while they fight through their journey to healing.
The All Cancer Matters Ball raises funds to help the organization provide everyday necessities to patients, prescription costs, and supplies for support groups, workshops, and events. Those who are interested in donating or becoming a sponsoring partner can contact the foundation at 765-807-9157 or email youreworthfighting4@gmail.com. Tickets for the event are now on sale on the organization's website. Previous sponsors include Meijer, Costco, E.G.O. Entertainment Network, Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Services, and more.
