Sam Hauser made nine 3-pointers and scored a game-high 33 points as the Boston Celtics extended their winning streak to five games by beating the visiting Utah Jazz 114-108 Monday night.
Hauser was 11 of 23 from the field, including 9 of 19 from 3-point territory. He made seven 3-pointers in the third quarter.
Utah trailed 90-69 entering the fourth quarter but tied the game 103-103 on a Walker Kessler hook shot with 3:21 to play. Hauser's ninth 3-pointer put Boston up 112-104 with 1:20 remaining.
Utah was within 112-108 after an Isaiah Collier 3-pointer with 43.8 seconds left, but the Jazz failed to get any closer. Utah scored 39 points in the fourth quarter.
Jaylen Brown had 26 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the Celtics, who also received 18 points, 10 assists and five rebounds from Derrick White. Jrue Holiday scored 10 points and was the only other Boston player in double figures.
The Celtics played without leading scorer Jayson Tatum (knee), Kristaps Porzingis (non-COVID illness) and Al Horford (toe). Porzingis hasn't played in any of Boston's last six games. He sent out a message on social media at halftime that said he's been dealing with a viral illness that 'we haven't been able to fully identify yet.' He added, 'Still working my way back to full strength to help this team win.'
John Collins led Utah with 28 points. He made 12 of his 30 field-goal attempts and grabbed 10 rebounds. Brice Sensabaugh added 22 points, Collin Sexton finished with 16 points and 13 assists, and Kessler had 11 points and 10 boards.
The Jazz, who are at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, have lost six in a row overall and 12 in a row on the road.
Utah was without Jordan Clarkson (foot) and Lauri Markkanen (back/injury management).
The Celtics led 25-24 after one quarter and 53-47 at halftime.
Boston will wrap up its seven-game homestand against Oklahoma City on Wednesday night.
