Ezequiel Tovar doubled and scored on Warming Bernabel's single in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the Colorado Rockies a 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday in Denver.

Tovar also homered to help Colorado end a 10-game losing streak against Los Angeles. Six of those games were this year.

Dodgers reliever Justin Wrobleski (4-5) retired Jordan Beck on a fly ball to start the ninth, but Tovar's blooper to right fell for a double. Bernabel followed with his single to center. Victor Vodnik (4-3) pitched a perfect top of the ninth and Brenton Doyle had two hits for the Rockies, who have won four straight and six of the past seven.

Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman had two hits apiece for the Dodgers, who were coming off a three-game weekend sweep of the San Diego Padres that moved them back into first place in the National League West.

Brewers 7, Cubs 0

Freddy Peralta allowed one hit over six shutout innings to help visiting Milwaukee beat Chicago in the scheduled opener of a doubleheader. The second game was rained out.

Peralta (15-5) won his third straight start and improved his career-best win total after striking out six and walking three.

Cubs starter Cade Horton (7-4) was trying to win his fifth straight start after allowing just one run over his previous 28 1/3 innings. However, he was lifted after 2 2/3 innings because of a blister on the middle finger of his pitching hand.

Tigers 10, Astros 0

Jack Flaherty tossed seven strong innings and Trey Sweeney had a three-run homer plus a triple as host Detroit routed Houston to open a three-game series between division leaders.

The Tigers' Riley Greene, Wenceel Perez and Colt Keith also homered in the decisive win. Keith added a double with two runs and two RBIs. Flaherty (7-12) struck out nine batters and gave up just three hits in his longest outing of the season.

Astros starter Spencer Arrighetti (1-4) allowed five runs and seven hits over five innings. Christian Walker had two of Houston's five hits in the game.

Cardinals 8, Marlins 3

Alec Burleson lined a go-ahead single in the seventh inning as visiting St. Louis defeated mistake-prone Miami.

Burleson finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and reliever Matt Svanson (2-0) pitched two scoreless innings as the Cardinals snapped a five-game losing streak.

Miami, fresh off a 3-8 road trip, made two errors that led to three unearned runs. In addition, Miami's Eury Perez set a franchise single-game record with four wild pitches in just 4 1/3 innings. He also allowed two hits, four walks and three runs, one earned, escaping with a no-decision.

Royals 4, Rangers 3

Mike Yastrzemski, Vinnie Pasquantino and Maikel Garcia homered to provide all of Kansas City's offense, Michael Wacha pitched 5 2/3 effective innings and the surging Royals beat visiting Texas.

In a matchup of teams trying to reach an American League wild-card position, Kansas City had just enough offense to win its fourth straight and improve to 6-1 on a 10-game homestand. The Royals, 17-9 since July 20, got two hits apiece from Yastrzemski and Garcia. Wacha (8-9) permitted nine hits but limited Texas to two runs.

Corey Seager had three hits and Evan Carter added two with an RBI for Texas, which is behind Kansas City in the wild-card chase and has lost nine of 11. Rangers starter Jack Leiter (7-7) gave up three runs, six hits and three walks while lasting just 3 2/3 innings for the Rangers.

Pirates 5, Blue Jays 2

Henry Davis doubled to lead off the seventh and eventually scored the go-ahead run as host Pittsburgh took advantage of three errors to beat Toronto.

Davis advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Isiah Kiner-Falefa, and then scored on a wild pitch by Brendon Little, who entered in relief for Yariel Rodriguez (2-1). Spencer Horwitz had two hits while Alexander Canario and Bryan Reynolds each had an RBI to help the Pirates snap a two-game skid and win for only the second time in their past nine games.

Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. each had an RBI to lead the Blue Jays, who lost their second in a row after winning five of their previous six.

Phillies 12, Mariners 7

Bryce Harper launched two mammoth home runs and Trea Turner drove in five runs to highlight Philadelphia's home victory over Seattle on Monday.

Turner finished with four hits while Harper and J.T. Realmuto had three hits apiece for Philadelphia, which mounted a 21-hit attack in support of Ranger Suarez (9-6). The left-hander struck out 10 over 6 2/3 innings, allowing two runs and four hits without a walk.

Logan Gilbert (3-5) dug the visitors into a hole by allowing six runs in the second inning. Mitch Garver and Cole Young hit seventh-inning home runs for Seattle, which has lost five of its past six games.

Orioles 6, Red Sox 3

Gunnar Henderson had a home run and an RBI triple and Trevor Rogers pitched shutout ball for his first 6 1/3 innings to help visiting Baltimore beat Boston to open a two-game set.

Over seven innings, Rogers (6-2) surrendered just one run on four hits and struck out seven batters. Ryan Mountcastle had three hits, Henderson had two RBIs and three runs, while rookies Samuel Basallo, Jeremiah Jackson and Dylan Beavers chipped in a pair of hits each for the O's.

Red Sox starter Dustin May (7-9) allowed two runs on eight hits over six innings. Jarren Duran had a double and three RBIs to lead Boston, which dropped back-to-back home games for the first time since June. Trevor Story and Roman Anthony added two hits apiece.

White Sox 13, Braves 9

Chicago went deep four times and scored a season high in runs before surviving a late Atlanta rally to beat the Braves and snap a four-game skid.

Brooks Baldwin, Luis Robert Jr., Lenyn Sosa and Kyle Teel each hit home runs to spark the season-high 19-hit attack. Teel and Andrew Benintendi each had four hits. Yoendrys Gomez (3-1) pitched five-plus innings and allowed four runs -- three earned -- on seven hits, one walk and three strikeouts in his second career start.

Atlanta's Harris had four hits, including a two-run homer, and Jurickson Profar added a pair of home runs with five RBIs. Profar and Matt Olson both had three of the Braves' 15 hits. Atlanta starter Spencer Strider (5-11) took his third straight loss. He worked three-plus innings and allowed seven runs on 10 hits -- two of them home runs.

Reds 4, Angels 1

Gavin Lux had a two-run homer among his two hits and Brady Singer allowed one run in six innings as Cincinnati defeated Los Angeles in Anaheim, Calif.

Austin Hays went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI, Elly De La Cruz and Ke'Bryan Hayes each tripled and scored a run and Noelvi Marte had two hits for Cincinnati, which moved to within one game of the idle New York Mets for the final National League wild-card spot. Singer (11-9), making his first career start at Anaheim Stadium, permitted six hits, walked one and struck out four.

Taylor Ward had an RBI double and Nolan Schanuel added two hits for Los Angeles, which lost its ninth straight game to the Reds dating back to 2019. Victor Mederos (0-1), making his second major league start, permitted three runs on nine hits over five innings.

Giants 4, Padres 3

Wilmer Flores' two-run shot capped a three-homer first inning for the visiting Giants and Robbie Ray fired 6 2/3 solid innings in San Francisco's victory over San Diego.

Ray (10-6) allowed just three hits and three unearned runs while walking one and striking out six. Ryan Walker got the next four outs, and Randy Rodriguez pitched the ninth to bag his fourth save.

Arizona starter Nestor Cortes (1-2) lasted 5 2/3 innings, permitting four runs on seven hits and four walks while whiffing five. Cortes didn't allow a run after the first five batters of the game, but that was enough to get him beat.

Guardians 3, Diamondbacks 1

C.J. Kayfus and Brayan Rocchio homered, Gavin Williams threw 5 1/3 scoreless innings, and Cleveland broke a three-game losing streak with a victory over Arizona in Phoenix.

Kayfus had two hits including his second homer in his 15th major league game. Williams (8-4) gave up just four hits while beating Zac Gallen (9-13), who yielded three runs on five hits in six innings.

Geraldo Perdomo ended the Guardians' shutout bid on a run-scoring triple with two outs in the ninth. However, Cade Smith struck out Ketel Marte to end the game for his seventh save.
