The Los Angeles Angels recalled right-hander Chase Silseth from Triple-A Salt Lake and placed right-hander Ryan Zeferjahn on the 15-day injured list with right knee tendinitis.
Silseth has moved back-and-forth between the Angels' roster and Triple-A in the past couple of weeks. The 25-year-old is a starter but has been utilized out of the bullpen in his three major league appearances this season.
In two and 1/3 innings, he has allowed zero runs, four hits, and four walks to go along with three strikeouts. For his career, Silseth has a 4.93 ERA in 28 MLB games.
The Angels acquired Zeferjahn from the Boston Red Sox in the Luis Garcia-trade in 2024. Last season, he was outstanding in a small sample size, posting a 2.12 ERA and 0.765 WHIP in 12 games.
However, he has not quite matched that production in 2025 with a 4.77 ERA and 1.445 WHIP in 59 games.
The Angels (66-74) host the Athletics Saturday night and are 6 1/2 games back in the chase for the final Wild Card spot.
