Derrick White produced 27 points, seven blocks, seven rebounds and six assists to lead the Boston Celtics to a 129-119 victory over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday in Salt Lake City.
White became the first NBA player 6-foot-5 or shorter to finish with at least 25 points, six rebounds, six assists and six blocks in a game.
Jaylen Brown tallied 23 points, 10 assists and six rebounds for the Celtics, who won for the fifth time in six games. Brown's streak of nine consecutive 30-point games, which tied the franchise record set by Larry Brown, ended.
Boston's Anfernee Simons chipped in 20 points while Payton Pritchard added 18 points and six assists.
Keyonte George had 37 points and seven assists to lead the Jazz, whose two-game winning streak was snapped. Jusuf Nurkic tallied 26 points, on 10-of-11 shooting, plus eight rebounds and eight assists. Lauri Markkanen amassed 22 points and nine rebounds.
Boston went on a pair of 7-0 runs to build a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter after trading leads with Utah in the second and third periods.
Pritchard capped the first run with a driving layup, putting the Celtics up 114-105 with 7:08 to go.
The Jazz cut into the deficit behind baskets from Nurkic and George. Boston then extended its lead again, going up 123-112 with 3:56 remaining when Simon finished off the second 7-0 run with a corner 3-pointer.
George made four baskets in the first four minutes to help Utah race out to an 18-6 lead. The Jazz held a double-digit lead through large stretches of the first quarter.
Boston responded with a hot streak to start the second quarter. Simons made a 3-pointer and a go-ahead step-back jumper to fuel an 11-0 run that gave the Celtics a 42-38 lead. White's three-point play capped a string of three straight baskets that extended Boston's lead to 52-42.
Utah countered with a 22-5 run to go back in front before halftime. George (twice) and Brice Sensabaugh combined to punctuate the run with three straight 3-pointers, giving the Jazz a 64-57 lead. Utah was on top 64-59 at the break.
George racked up 23 points on 8-of-15 shooting by halftime.
